Every year around this time of year, I experience the adverse effects of “spring forward.” You know what I’m talking about – that time when time itself shifts an entire hour. And worse still, it shifts forward, meaning we’re actually losing an hour.
Most years, I lose some sleep, feel some drowsiness, and get on with it. Not this time.
This time, I woke up Sunday morning with stinging eyes. I attended church with those same stinging eyes.
Afterward, I took a nap… in the parking lot because my eyes hurt so badly.
They were still slightly hurting this morning too. Oh well, I figured I was through the spring forward.
Evidently not. At about 7:25 pm today, I checked the clocked. I assumed it was around 4:30 or 5:00. I was off by almost three hours. I don’t remember spring forward ever affecting me this much in the past. Craziness.
What about you, though? How’s your spring forward been?
Weird. That is how my spring forward has been. I usually go to bed about 1 in the morning but last night I went to bed at 12 which would have been 11 a couple of days ago.
In a few weeks I will spring forward 7 hours because we are moving to Germany. I heard that exercise helps one get over jetlag so maybe it will work for changing the clock one hour.
Also I heard it takes out bodies a day to adjust for each hour we change so for our spring forward it should only take 1 day. Germany = 7 days. Yeah! 🙂
PS: I like commenting here. I seem to connect with what you say here better than bondChristian. I think this is just me though because we are all different 🙂
Yeah, I don’t remember ever having that much of a time shift (7 hours). I’ve done the east coast/west coast thing but that’s only three hours… and I’ve only done that once by plane – it’s usually a process of driving through all the states so I don’t really feel the change much.
About here vs. bondChristian: I’m actually a little frustrated with my posting over there lately. I liked one post I did last week.
Over here, I just spill whatever’s on my mind – I don’t even bother editing (which is why I just noticed I wrote “someday” instead of “Sunday” in this post. I’ll have to fix that). It’s a lot more conversational… and closer to how I am in person.
