My worst case of "spring forward" yet

Every year around this time of year, I experience the adverse effects of “spring forward.” You know what I’m talking about – that time when time itself shifts an entire hour. And worse still, it shifts forward, meaning we’re actually losing an hour.

Most years, I lose some sleep, feel some drowsiness, and get on with it. Not this time.

This time, I woke up Sunday morning with stinging eyes. I attended church with those same stinging eyes.

Afterward, I took a nap… in the parking lot because my eyes hurt so badly.

They were still slightly hurting this morning too. Oh well, I figured I was through the spring forward.

Evidently not. At about 7:25 pm today, I checked the clocked. I assumed it was around 4:30 or 5:00. I was off by almost three hours. I don’t remember spring forward ever affecting me this much in the past. Craziness.

What about you, though? How’s your spring forward been?

  1. Weird. That is how my spring forward has been. I usually go to bed about 1 in the morning but last night I went to bed at 12 which would have been 11 a couple of days ago.

In a few weeks I will spring forward 7 hours because we are moving to Germany. I heard that exercise helps one get over jetlag so maybe it will work for changing the clock one hour.

Also I heard it takes out bodies a day to adjust for each hour we change so for our spring forward it should only take 1 day. Germany = 7 days. Yeah! 🙂

PS: I like commenting here. I seem to connect with what you say here better than bondChristian. I think this is just me though because we are all different 🙂

  2. Yeah, I don’t remember ever having that much of a time shift (7 hours). I’ve done the east coast/west coast thing but that’s only three hours… and I’ve only done that once by plane – it’s usually a process of driving through all the states so I don’t really feel the change much.

About here vs. bondChristian: I’m actually a little frustrated with my posting over there lately. I liked one post I did last week.

Over here, I just spill whatever’s on my mind – I don’t even bother editing (which is why I just noticed I wrote “someday” instead of “Sunday” in this post. I’ll have to fix that). It’s a lot more conversational… and closer to how I am in person.
