Last night I fell asleep on my couch without writing a post for today. This morning I worked, so I didn’t have a chance to write a post earlier. So I started out to write just now. . . at 3:00 pm.
And I noticed something incredible. Something I take for granted far too often. I noticed this blog had had visitors this morning.
Now that’s ordinary. I usually do have visitors. But this time I stopped and really thought about what that means.
It means people – important people like you – made time, paid attention, and came to my blog. That is amazing.
I’m a young college grad. While I think I’ve certainly learned a lot in my life, I’m certainly not the most brilliant, charming, attention deserving guy in the world. You’ve probably learned more than I have.
This should be the other way around.
The fact that you actually come to read what I write is an intense blessing. Once upon a time, I could see people coming to read what I write simply because it’s available. That’s not the case anymore.
You have so much you could read – just online even. And it’s so easy to connect with anyone. Everyone is just a phone call, an email, or – talk about slowness – a snail mail letter away. Or hey, you could jump into a car or unto a bus or walk to see, talk, and listen to just about anyone.
All the possibilities and still readers visit this blog to read what I’ve written. You are amazing. Thank you.
I hope I never forget you or take you for granted.
