When I offer some kind of advice, share an observation, or reflect too much on how I’m thinking, I almost always cringe when I look back on it in writing. It’s not that the content itself is always lame. Sometimes, that’s true, but more often I think it’s the delivery that’s bad.
When I look back on stories I’ve told, though, I don’t cringe so much. Somehow, stories pass through time and feel fresher than all the other kinds of writing I do. And that makes me want to just write stories.
