There’s been a lot of talk around camp about plans. Where are you going for the break? What are you going to do with the money you save? What are your plans for after Saudi?
Most people don’t really want to be here. They’re here for the money, to get somewhere else.
I like plans. I like trying to see where I’ll go or how to get there. I like feeling in control of my story.
But I’m not like most people here. I want to save money, yes, but that’s not the only reason I’m here. I wanted to live in Saudi Arabia for the experience of living in this country, not just for what I’ll get for doing it.
The longer I’m here, the more I notice how much this sets me apart from almost everyone in this program. And the more I notice how much this sets me apart, the more I realize how much motives matter.
