Using the unscheduled hours intentionally

There are a couple times in the week where I didn’t typically have anything scheduled, other than maybe sleeping:

  • In the morning, two hours before I normally get going.
  • In the evenings. This depends on your schedule, but for me starts around 9pm or 10pm.
  • On Saturday mornings.

So I turned mornings into my time to work out. I turned eleven to midnight into my time to work on personal projects. And I turned my Saturday mornings into my time to meet up with friends for coffee, usually one-on-one. Most of my friends are available then, and the only thing keeping us from meeting then is getting up for it.

I don’t do this every day. Or every Saturday.

But it’s reliable enough that when I do need to make time for one of these things, this is when I can slot it in.
