It’s not a good idea to add items to a Do list if the only reason you want to do them is to say that you did them. This is what I’ve heard anyway.
They say it’s better to have some intrinsic reason for wanting to do these things. That way, you’ll have more motivation to do them, to cross them off the list, and more satisfaction when you do complete them.
I don’t know about that. I’m not sure it’s a great idea to try things just to say you’ve done them, like for bragging rights. In another sense, though, I think there is value in trying things just for the sake of trying them.
Beyond bragging, I think there is value is doing things just for the stories they create. I want to say stories themselves have intrinsic value.
