Today I start the sleep schedule experiment. Here’s the plan.
- Get in bed by 1:00 AM.
- Get up by 10:00 AM.
That’s it. Once again, I’m keeping this super simple on purpose. I’m guessing, though, it’s going to be harder than it seems to follow.
I usually get home from work around 10:45 PM if I don’t go out afterward. Going to bed at 1:00 AM then means I only get about two hours to wind down. To put that in perspective, it would be like going to bed at 8:00 if you get off work at 5:00, not impossible but definitely not normal for a night owl.
Getting up at 10:00 AM should be a little easier. I purposely factored in nine hours for sleep. That way, I can get ahead of schedule if I want by waking up earlier but also “sleep in” without breaking the schedule.
We’ll see how it goes. The hard part about this kind of experiment is that it will affect so many other parts of my life. I’ll need to stay disciplined on projects right after work so I can wrap them up before bedtime.
And posting this is one of those projects, a small one. So goodnight.
