I’ve heard that having a couple things going at any given time helps you feel effective all the time.
For instance…
- If work doesn’t go well, maybe you can make it up with a good run, and call it a great day.
- Or if exercising doesn’t go well, maybe you can make it up with lunch with a friend.
Many people we admire do this, and other people tell us to do this.
It doesn’t all come together, though, until we both see and hear it. It’s the same for all examples and advice.
Just seeing it, we don’t notice what to copy.
Just hearing it, we don’t know that it works.
