When I went to delete my WordPress.com blog, the place where Marshallogue began, I realized that in deleting it, I’d be forever locking out my chance of ever using MarshallJonesJr.Wordpress.com. That seemed like such a shame, considering I’ll only ever have this one name. That’s what prompted my idea…
Instead of locking it out completely, what if I revamped it? What if I deleted all those mirrored posts – the posts that migrated here when I started at MarshallJonesJr.com – and started over with a different style of content? What if I used that other domain to post the things I found around the web, not my writing, but other people’s stuff that’s interesting to me?
Well, that’s what I’m doing.
Enter Marshbox.
It’s a place to see my footprints, the marks of where I’ve walked around the Web. It’s like my Internet sandbox. I’ll post videos I watch, quotes I like, articles I find, sites I discover, maybe some photos, and even some music.
I’m not going to post on any regular schedule. Some days, I’ll updated more than once. Some days, I won’t update at all. We’ll keep it really informal, you know, like a sandbox.
This feels a lot like I felt when I started the blog back in ’09. I didn’t have anyone reading it. I didn’t know what I was going to do with it, really. I didn’t know for sure how long it would last. But it was new. And, as you know, I like that.
So that’s it. I’m not deleting the site entirely. I’m revamping it. Feel free to check it out if you’re interested. See what I’m up to when I’m out in the cloud.
