“I love the Holocaust.”
I wanted to use that for the title of this post, but I know it’s not entirely accurate.
More accurately, I love studying it. I love learning about the people who survived it… or didn’t.
Many of my favorite books – we’re talking all time favorites here – are centered around the Holocaust. Some that immediately jump to mind:
- Anne Frank: The Dairy of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
- Night by Elie Wiesel
- Number the Stars by Louis Lowry
- The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom
- Obsessed by Ted Dekker
And that doesn’t even touch on some of the more philosophical works that have come as a result. I’ve even read some excellent biographies of Adolf Hitler.
I also enjoy the documentaries and movies that teach more about it – at least those that are done well.
I’m not sure why – I’ll explore this more in some of my coming posts. For now, I meant only to bring up the topic and say that it’s one of my favorite subjects in history.
