A while back, I discovered a fascinating, speaking/networking/community event that also happens to be totally geeky. It’s called Ignite – you might have heard of it.
From their site:
“In talks that are exactly five minutes long, Ignite presenters share their personal and professional passions, using 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds.”
When I first learned about that format and found out it was community-driven (volunteers around the world host events in their own cities), I was all over it. What a great way to meet new people, challenge ourselves, and – most importantly – share some of the things we’re most interested in.
The nearest event to me is in Cincinnati, Ohio. Others are in Nashville, Tennessee and Bloomington, Indiana and so on. I’d like to check them out, especially the one in Bloomington, which is at Indiana University on September 10.
That said, I’d love to ignite Louisville.
Would you or anyone you know be interested in coming/speaking/volunteering/enjoying the fun?
