Johnny Depp is popular. Okay, I’ve said it.
A week and a half ago, I wrote a post about Johnny Depp. Just a few days ago, the post got indexed by the Google. It wasn’t even near the front page, but I still got 615 visitors here from it.
That’s not a lot by Internet standards, but let’s put it in perspective. This blog gets about 30 or 40 visitors per day. I’ve done nothing to advertise this blog except post links to it from facebook. The idea that 615 people clicked through then is amazing. And that was only one day.
So far, the traffic has dropped some but not much. I’ve learned a lot from Johnny, more than I thought I would for sure. Here are two lessons though:
- If you can’t lick ’em, join ’em. The whole point of that post was to show that competing isn’t really a good strategy. I forgot to mention the value, though, of sucking up to the most hottestest star.
- Pictures of arguably the most marriable man drive traffic. ‘Nuff said there. (As you can see, I’m keeping that going in this post too.)
- Check your stats more often. I didn’t notice this traffic spike until today. Lame, I know. I usually think it’s just me being selfish checking such things. But hey, you never know when you might get Johnny Depped.
So Mr. Depp. I appreciate you.
What about you, dear reader? Have you learned anything from Johnny D. or someone similar (if similar to Mr. Depp is even possible)?
