I’m a pretty big fan of Thanksgiving. It’s my favorite holiday. No pressure to exchange gifts, no pressure to decorate even. Americans still celebrate it, eating a lot and saying, “Happy Thanksgiving.” But other than that, everyone just talks about turkey or football or Black Friday.
But that’s part of why I like it. It’s not overhyped or commercialized. I like that. Since it’s not so commercialized, I can hype it up all I can without worrying about it somehow getting overhyped. I’m not even sure that’s possible.
I like it because it’s all about thankfulness. Even if it weren’t a holiday, I like thanksgiving, the lower case, everyday variety.
