Even if I never taste chocolate again
Even if I never dive after a Frisbee again
Even if I never return home, or find one, or make one
I can give thanks.
Even if I never fake fish a lake
Or swing into that lake from a rope
Even if I never stampede a beach
Or sleep on the sand on that beach
I can give thanks
Even if I never meet that face, make that call
Even if I never see my family at all
Even if I never hang with my friends
Even if I never do any of it again
I can give thanks.
I can, and I will.
“The gift of life is so precious that even if I never live another moment, I will be forever thankful for those I’ve already lived.”
Long live Thanksgiving!
