Marketers repeat a common trope: tell a story instead of just presenting facts. People like stories, they say. Stories help us empathize.
The question, though, is how to tell a story without telling an actual story? For example, in a resume, on a business card, with a one-sentence introduction – how can you tell a story with those?
I’d say it comes down to three elements:
That’s what makes a story a story, not just a lump of facts. Without journey, there’s nothing to follow. Without purpose, there’s nowhere to go. Without character, there’s no reason to care.
