Last year, 2011, was the first year I thought to myself, What if it’s all downhill from here?
It’s not that life looked like it was heading downhill. It’s not that I worried about the Mayan calendar ending. It’s that 2011 was an incredible year.
To get an idea of some of the highlights, check out the rapid-fire post at the end of it or any of the other posts I published last year. On top of everything you see there in those posts, I also started pursuing a Master’s degree as a secret project and began seriously planning how to adopt.
So I guess looking back, I can’t be too surprised that I worried about feeling down after such a high year.
As it turns out, though, 2012 has been even more… well, I won’t compare them directly. That’s not fair. But yeah, 2012 has been (and continues to be) A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
And one of the huge upsides of this, of realizing this now, is that it gives me hope for all the years ahead. Yeah, it’s totally possible to keep having amazing years, one after the other after the other. Thank God.
Here’s to going forward… may the best of this year be the worst of next (or something like that)!
