The meaning of yellow

Yellow. It’s my favorite color. What comes to mind when you think of it?

Happy, but too much is annoying. Bright light, but might hurt your eyes. Grabs attention… maybe as a warning. Easiest color to see.

Energetic, but cowardly. Primary color, but least loved of the three. Makes you hungry, but don’t eat that snow.

Yellow rose = friendship. Yellow car = ticket. Yellow ticket = lifetime supply of chocolate (or was that a slightly different color?).

Cheese is yellow. Cheesy is yellow. So are taxis, school buses, and pencils. Oh, and “speed up” lights.

Supposedly, yellow symbolizes imagination (like Disney), optimism (like Wal-Mart stickers), curiosity (like George), and yield (like those goofy cow crossing signs). Also liberalism, libertarianism, Chinese porn, sensationalist journalism, and that Star of David the Jews had to wear during the Holocaust.

With black, it’s bumble bee. With red, it’s fast food. With blue, it’s green.

It’s Charlie Brown’s shirt, Lego skin, and those pages where your fingers used to do the walking.

Maybe I’m over thinking this, but how do you feel about the color?

[Interestingly enough (to me at least), orange, which is probably the most love/hate color, is my second favorite.]
