Realizing my (height and) clothing hasn't changed much this decade

On Thanksgiving, I found a scrapbook that included a letter my family had sent out for Christmas when I was 14.

For each family member, the letter gave a simple paragraph listing some interesting things about each person. For me, it said, “Marshall is 5’8″ tall,” and went on.

If you know me now, you know that I’m still 5’8″ tall. I haven’t grown since I was 14. I knew I stopped growing early, but that was the first I realized how early.

Since I didn’t grow any, I was able to keep all the same clothes through my teenage years. Yes, that’s right – all the same clothes.

That’s what sparked this post. Today, I’m going off to church wearing the same leather jacket I wore when I got my driver’s license. I know because I have the picture.

I also know that many people, not just me, keep the same clothes for a long time, wearing the same thing again and again. Makes sense to me.

I don’t keep up with styles (too much), and many of the clothes I have I totally enjoy (this leather jacket for instance).

So let see how long I can keep going with the same clothes.

What about you though? Do you have many of the same clothes you’ve had for the past decade? If so, why? Is it because you really love your clothes, or you’re just too stingy to buy new ones, or you find it a wast of time, or what?

Did you have any clothes that lasted your entire teenage years?
