My first impressions of Bangkok

Bangkok is what I imagined of Seoul would be like.

The streets are narrow. The sidewalks even narrower. Street food everywhere, sideshops crowding the crowds.

Plus, automobiles – cars and buses and motorbikes and everything else on the road – drive on the other side of the road, like in Japan.

Everything’s too close and conjested, and familiar and fun.

It’s a perfect place for a skateboard video game: plenty to explore, rails leading nowhere, weird ramps ozzing from the buildings.

It’s the Asia of spy films. And spicy, insect food, cheap. And all around grittiness.

It’s not where I’d raise a family. But for a single guy on an adventure for a couple weeks, yeah.

I love it.
