How I’m learning zip codes

Real estate.

And service scheduling.

For the past couple years, I’ve been interested in real estate investing. I haven’t purchased my first property yet, but I’m going to do it.

I’ve been looking on the MLS. I look on the maps to find where properties are located.

After a while, the zip codes start to look familiar. I get to know where a place might be located based on the zip code alone.

I’ve lived in Louisville most of my life, but I never knew much about the zip codes, except the ones I lived in.

For the past couple months, I’ve been working at Sonitrol. Recently, I’ve been in charge of scheduling service routes.

In order to get the most done each day that we can, it helps to have guys run to jobs that are close to one another.

I look at the addresses. Then I look at the maps and plan where the techs will go.

After a while, the zip codes start to look familiar. I get to know where a place might be located based on the zip code alone.

That’s how I’m learning zip codes, at least in Louisville.
