I’m driving to Grapevine, Texas

So yeah – surprise, surprise – with just a few weeks left to go before the big move to Arabia, I decided to rent a car and drive west, young man. Some friends of mine, Jennifer from Korea and her soon-to-be-husband, Jeremy, are getting married. And I’m going to the wedding.

In Texas.

From Kentucky.

By car.

In a weekend.

This should be a fun and exhausting trip. (It seems like those often go hand in hand for me, fun and exhausting.) I’ve certainly traveled further before but never driven it on my own this far. I think I’d prefer to just ride instead of drive, but we’ll see. Maybe it’ll turn out that I really enjoy driving for hours and hours on end.

Either way, I know I love to travel, so I’m sure I’m going to enjoy this.

My parents tried to get me to take one of their cell phones. I try not to be a “just in case” kind of person, but… yeah, I finally caved. I’m going to bring it. We’ll see – maybe I’ll even use it.

Either way, like I said, I should enjoy this. And even if not, we’ll get a story or two out of it.

Yep, this year’s about to get crazy.
