How to sell a butt-load of books

Let’s look at some numbers:

• Barbara Cartland, author of 700+ novels, has sold a billion copies.
• Danielle Steel, author of 70+ novels, has sold over half a billion copies.
• Stephenie Meyer of Twilight fame has sold more than 100 million copies.

For comparison, John Grisham, C. S. Lewis, Dr. Seuss, and Charles Dickens combined have sold only about a billion copies.

Moral of the story: if you’re an author, write freakin’ romance novels for women. Or be a woman.
