There’s a difference between having a favorite and creating a signature.
My grandma, for instance, loves green. She loves it to the point of wearing lime green socks, matching T-shirt, and understated white pants, like a jolly green giant at 4’10”. That’s Grandma D and her signature green.
Green is clearly her favorite color too. The difference is that those who know her know she loves green. You can claim a favorite, but others can recognize a signature.
