Do things while you want to

Once upon a time, I had this idea of trying to raise $100,000 for a charity in one month. I started planning. I started emailing. I started to get things ready. But I never actually started.

The inspiration is gone now. I don’t have the drive to follow through with it anymore. Maybe someday, but someday rarely comes.

Once upon a time, I had this idea of building a company that would help churches and non-profits with their online strategy. I set up a website for my business. I created an intro course. I started emailing potential clients. But I never actually started doing the hard work, calling people, asking for referrals. So it never grew.

The inspiration is gone now. I don’t have the drive to follow through with it anymore. Maybe someday, but someday rarely comes.

Once upon a time, I had this idea to run a marathon, barefoot. I started building up my callouses and my running technique. I started researching a possible marathon to enter. But I never actually started, I never actually entered, I never actually committed to a specific date.

The inspiration is gone now. I don’t have the drive to follow through with it anymore. Maybe someday, but someday rarely comes.

Your current inspiration is a current of inspiration: it will wash past soon. Do things while you want to. It’s the only time you ever will.
