Blessing is simple

People aren’t difficult to bless. At least it’s not complicated.

It’s not about fast cars, handsome husbands, or exotic vacations. Simple things totally stoke people, and that’s enough.

  • Buy a cup of coffee for a stranger.
  • Play a game with a kid.
  • Call just to say hey.

Those things, repeated over and over again, are enough to measurably improve someone for the rest of their life.

Maybe it’s just me, but I tend to complicate it. I want to find some amazing (read: unconventional, memorable, repeatable) way to pull it off.

If I’m honest, I know I’m not really in the blessing business. If I’m honest, I have to admit it’s really for me. Because if I actually cared about people enough I’d do all that non-complicated, conventional stuff.

Ouch, that hurts.

Because simple things are enough to bless people. But I don’t.
